Volcan Tungurahua
Destination Andine was in Baños, in Ecuador, August 16, 2006, with the foot of the Tungurahua volcano, approximately 4 hours before the government decides to evacuate the city, following the eruptions and the threat of this last. We went has a few kilometers with the foot of the volcano, that is to say in the centre town of Baños. There was enormous grondements, and the ground trembled, like all the fenètres.

In the hours which followed, there was a large eruption, all the province was cut of electricity, of which towns of Puyo, and Tena, where we slept. There were at least 5 died, which received stones of several kilos, launched by the volcano carl are people went too near in spite of the warnings.

All the cities and municipalities of the area were buried ashes, up to 10 centimetres per place. It is a great catastrophe for this area, because agriculture, the fields, etc are covered with ashes. The animals, which are in the fields, die per hundred. And the rain drains these ashes in the brooks and rivers.

TÉMOIGNAGES

#1 : It was my first voyage in group and it was a formidable experiment. Peru is a splendid country or one finds the sea, the desert, the forest and the history of a whole people. Our guide and our guide were serious people, of a great professionalism and with the listening of our needs. I strongly encourage you to join to you to them to visit Peru, you will not be disappointed.

#2 : A whole adventure to visit Peru. I could never have gone on such a journey without a very advised guide. A voyage as that could have cost the double if it had not been as well planned. The valley of Incas is so beautiful, that exceeds our imagination. The volcanic mountains are ten times larger than they are imagined. Each day that we were there was a new adventure. The problem is to return to Canada, one was so much well and one had been accustomed to these accessible and cordial Peruvians.

#3 : I was a little apprehensive at the beginning to leave with a group people whom I did not know but I must acknowledge that I adored my experiment. There was an insane pleasure, one visited full with formidable places, quite as beautiful the ones as the others. I made things that here I would never have thought of making. It was to leave to the adventure but with a Québécois guide and a Peruvian guide which spoke French and which made so that all is perfect. They were formidable. If Peru interests you, you embark will not be disappointed.

#4 : The only sight of the ruins caused by the eruption of the Tungurahua volcano in Banos in Ecuador, is worth the price of the voyage! It was still very hot under the ground, one could still touch a rock any heat, VERY IMPRESSIONANT! thank you in Chantal and Gilles to have made known to me that. I liked the bicycle on the road of the cascades, of very beautiful landscapes all along the course.

If you seek guides and organizers open and qualified, entrust your voyage to Peru with people attentive with your needs, happy to inform you and ready with very to make your stay unforgettable. The kindness of the Peruvians will remain in my memory. Cheer Julie Gilles Cheer. Thank you! #6 #7 : We went on a gold journey with a small group which allows more flexibility and exchanges. Peru is an attractive country, full with vestiges of brilliant and mysterious civilizations, interesting cities with colonial architecture, where the central place is with the honor, just as the churches and the museums. The craft industry is beautiful and of good quality, the Peruvians are accessible. It is a country full with natural contrasts, bathed by the sea, and the mountains... The voyage was super organized good and the organizers full with attentions.

#8: We went on a beautiful journey in Ecuador, thanks to Chantal & Gilles, we discovered places not too tourist, we could jaser with people of the country, to learn their manner of living. We particularly appreciated our meeting with people of native, the visit of a family living in mountain moved us much, one can imagine only in 2007, that a family is happy of living under conditions very precarious. Sight of Quillotoa (Lagoon of the crater), impressive! At the market of Otavalo, one had to buy 2 bags to put our purchases, really a very beautiful market. One was likely to go in edge of sea, in a peaceful place. We promised ourselves to return here in 2008. Our voyage was as a janvier/février 2007, Belle temperature, people are accessible, and excel services everywhere or we went, good choice of hotels.

#9: I spent two weeks filled well in Ecuador with Destination Andine ! Chantal et Gilles knew to guide our small group with brilliance. Always with the listening of our needs and our interests, they were flexible and opened. Extremely well organized, they thus allowed us to discover this country without worry.

Quality of the services offered by Destination Andine : I would give has... as at the school, finally until the return of the quantified bulletins! Ha! Ha! Then yes, I appreciated your service well. I largely appreciated your availability, Chantal, "via Internet" at the time of the reservation of the circuit. You answered quickly my courriels and that put to me in confidence, because it is not always obvious to prepare and hold a voyage via the Web! On the spot, in Ecuador, I found your presence, with you and Gilles, very professional and helping. You train a good team both and you know where you go! Very with the listening of the travellers also! The formula "small group" is also more for r Destination Andine.

Excursions: I largely appreciated the majority of the excursions. I believe that what you had to offer corresponded well to the profile of travellers who we were.

Side meals: we always ate very well! Personally, I would have liked to eat a little more "local" on the occasion, but I include/understand very well the situation of voyage of "group".

It was a pleasant voyage and credit which I would not forget of as soon as
